Late-night raid in the City Kotwali area leads to a major drug bust
Rewa Today Desk : In a significant operation, the police in Rewa seized narcotic syrup and tablets worth 63 lakhs. The confiscated items included 140 cc of cough syrup, estimated to be worth around 63 lakhs, containing addictive tablets like Tramadol and Alpha Zonal. Acting on a tip-off, the police had been monitoring a medical store in the City Kotwali area for some time, suspecting the illegal sale of narcotics.
Under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, several individuals involved in the illicit trade of cough syrup were apprehended. Following a prolonged surveillance operation, the police raided a rented house belonging to Manoj Gupta, the operator of the medical store, and seized a large quantity of cough syrup and tablets. The street value of the seized items is estimated to be around 63 lakhs. Additional SP Anil Sonakar of Rewa district stated, “The police have confiscated a significant amount of cough syrup and narcotic tablets, with a street value of around 63 lakhs.”
