दक्षिण अफ्रीका नामीबिया से पिछले साल 17 सितंबर को 8 चीता और 18 फरवरी को 12 चीते लाए गए थे इन्हें मध्य प्रदेश के कूनो के नेशनल पार्क में छोड़ा गया था तब दावे किए गए थे पूरी तरीके से सुरक्षित है मौसम के अनुकूल है यहां पर चीतो के लिए पर्याप्त भोजन है लेकिन बीते वक्त के साथ खास तौर पर जब गर्मी का मौसम प्रारंभ हुआ वैसे ही 20 चीते में से 3 की मौत हो गई इसी दौरान एक अच्छी खबर भी आई चार नए चीते जन्ममें भी कूनो नेशनल पार्क का प्रबंधन खुशी से झूम उठा लेकिन 4 में से तीन नवजात बच्चों की मौत ने एक बार फिर से तमाम तरीके से सवालों को जन्म दे दिया अब जब सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने भी कहा है शिफ्टिंग पर प्रबंधन नजर दौड़ाई उसके बाद अधिकारी बैठक करके निर्णय करने का प्रयास कर रहे हैं लेकिन चीता  की बसाहट को लेकर  भारतीय वन्यजीव संस्थान देहरादून की एक रिपोर्ट भी आई थी जिसमें कहा गया था राजस्थान के मुकुंदरा हिल्स टाइगर रिजर्व की दर्रा रेंज में चीतो को बसाया जा सकता है यह उनके अनुकूल है लेकिन ऐसा लगता है अधिकारी राजस्थान की ओर जाना ही नहीं चाहते कारण चाहे जो हो राजनैतिक या फिर चीतो के हित में ना हो फिलहाल अधिकारियों को सोचना होगा चीता एक्शन प्लान के मुताबिक कूनो में 22 चीतो को ही रखा जा सकता है इनको अन्यत्र  तो ले जाना ही पड़ेगा लेकिन बड़ा सवाल कहां और कब एनटीसी और केंद्रीय वन मंत्रालय के अफसरों ने राजस्थान के मुकुंदरा टाइगर हिल्स को शिफ्टिंग के लिए सबसे बेहतर बताया है वही मध्य प्रदेश के अधिकारी मंदसौर के गांधी सागर और सागर के नौरादेही अभ्यारण को बेहतर बताने में जुटे हुए हैं

अफसरों का कहना है दोनों ही अभ्यारण में इंतजाम करने में वक्त लगेगा गांधी सागर अभ्यारण पूरी तरीके से तैयार नहीं है हालांकि 38000 हेक्टेयर क्षेत्र में फैला विशालकाय इलाका तीन तरफ से जंगल से घिरा हुआ है एक तरफ पानी ही पानी है यहां पर कुछ साल पहले चीतल को छोड़ा गया था हिरण नीलगाय पहले से मौजूद हूं इसका मतलब सीटों के लिए भोजन की व्यवस्था यहां पर उपलब्ध है अब देखना है प्रधानमंत्री के ड्रीम प्रोजेक्ट देश में चीतों की बसाहट को लेकर क्या निर्णय निकल कर आता है कूनो नेशनल पार्क  से एक खबर और भी निकल कर आ रही है जो चीता प्रेमियों के लिए काफी बेहतर मानी जा रही है वहां पर चीतो की संख्या बढ़ाने के लिए अगले महीने मादा चीता कुछ बच्चों को जन्म देने वाली हैं बच्चों को अगर प्रबंधन ने बचा लिया तो माना जा सकता है देश में एक बार फिर से चीता की बसाहट नजर आने लगेगी देश में कई ऐसे इलाके हैं जंगल हैं जहां इन्हें निकट भविष्य में रखा जा सकेगा यह चीते वहां अपने कुनबे बढ़ाने में कामयाब होंगे

But the big question is where and when the officers of NTC and Union Forest Ministry have told Mukundara Tiger Hills of Rajasthan as the best for shifting, while the officers of Madhya Pradesh are trying to tell Gandhi Sagar of Mandsaur and Nauradehi Sanctuary of Sagar better. It is to be said that it will take time to make arrangements in both the sanctuaries.
