रीवा कलेक्टर श्रीमती प्रतिभा पाल ने गोविंदगढ़ भ्रमण के दौरान गोविंदगढ़ तालाब व गोपाल बाग का निरीक्षण किया। उन्होंने अधिकारियों को निर्देश दिए कि इस विशाल तालाब को पर्यटन केन्द्र बनाए जाने के लिए सौन्दर्यीकरण कराएं तथा साफ स्वच्छ बनाकर पर्यटन स्थल के तौर पर विकसित किया जाए। कलेक्टर ने स्टीमर से तालाब का भ्रमण किया तथा गोपाल बाग पहुंचकर रेस्ट हाउस देखा। उन्होंने हाउसिंग बोर्ड के अधिकारियों को निर्देशित किया कि पुनर्घनत्वीकरण योजना से जीर्णोद्धार का कार्य किए जाने की प्रक्रिया प्रारंभ करें। कलेक्टर ने नगर परिषद में तालाब के सौन्दर्यीकरण के लिए उपलब्ध बजट से कार्य शीघ्र प्रारंभ करने के निर्देश दिए।

कलेक्टर ने गोविंदगढ़ किले का निरीक्षण किया तथा पर्यटन विभाग के उपस्थित अधिकारी को निर्देश दिए कि किले के सौन्दर्यीकरण के लिए जिस एजेंसी को कार्य मिला है उससे संपर्क कर तत्काल कार्य आरंभ कराएं। उन्होंने किला पहुंच मार्ग के किनारे अतिक्रमण हटाने के निर्देश अनुविभागीय अधिकारी को दिए। कलेक्टर ने अपने भ्रमण के दौरान उद्यान विभाग अन्तर्गत संचालित गोविंदगढ़ रोपणी का भ्रमण किया तथा सुंदरजा आम के प्लाट का अवलोकन किया। उन्होंने रोपणी के विकास किए जाने व रीवा जिले की शान जीआई टैग सुंदरजा आम के और अधिक क्षेत्र में लगाए जाने के लिए कार्ययोजना प्रस्तुत करने के निर्देश सहायक संचालक उद्यान को दिए। भ्रमण के दौरान सीईओ जिला पंचायत डॉ सौरभ सोनवणे, अध्यक्ष नगर परिषद गोविंदगढ़ अभिषेक सिंह, एसडीएम हुजूर अनुराग तिवारी, कार्यपालन यंत्री हाउसिंग बोर्ड अनुज प्रताप सिंह, सहायक यंत्री हिमांशु वर्मा, सहायक संचालक मत्स्य डॉ अंजना सिंह, सहायक संचालक उद्यान योगेश पाठक सहित विभागीय अधिकारी उपस्थित रहे।

Rewa Collector Smt. Pratibha Pal inspected Govindgarh pond and Gopal Bagh during her visit to Govindgarh. He instructed the officials to beautify this huge pond to make it a tourist center and to make it clean and develop it as a tourist destination. The collector took a tour of the pond by steamer and after reaching Gopal Bagh saw the rest house. He directed the officials of the Housing Board to start the process of restoration work through the re-densification scheme. The collector instructed to start the work soon from the available budget for the beautification of the pond in the city council.

The collector inspected the Govindgarh fort and instructed the present officer of the tourism department to contact the agency which has got the work for the beautification of the fort and start the work immediately. He instructed the Sub-Divisional Officer to remove encroachments along the fort approach road. During his visit, the Collector visited the Govindgarh plantation operated under the Horticulture Department and observed the Sundarja mango plot. He instructed the Assistant Director Horticulture to present an action plan for the development of seedlings and planting GI tag Sundarja mangoes in more areas of Rewa district.
