पिछले काफी समय से टाइम्स ऑफ इंडिया के मालिकों के बीच विवाद की खबर आ रही थी जो अंत मैं सूत्रों के अनुसार सच साबित हुई जिसकी वजह से मीडिया संस्थान क्षेत्र में काम कर रहे एक और व्यापारिक समूह में विभाजन हो गया मिली जानकारी के अनुसार देश के सबसे पुराने और प्रभावशाली मीडिया समूहों में शामिल टाइम्स ग्रुप बैनेट कोलमैन एंड कंपनी लिमिटेड जिसे बीसीसीएल भी कह रहे कहा जा सकता है (Bennett Coleman and Company Ltd या BCCL) का बंटवारा हो गया है. वर्तमान में इस मीडिया समूह को टाईम्स ग्रुप के मालिकान जैन बंधुओं – समीर और विनीत जैन आपस में मिलकर चला रहे थे लेकिन दोनों के बीच बिजनेस चलाने के तरीके को लेकर मतभेद लगातार बने हुए थे मतभेद इस कदर तक बढ़ गए थे कि बात धीरे-धीरे बंटवारे तक पहुंच गई थी. दोनों के बीच जब मतभेद नहीं खत्म हुए तो दोनों ने अलग अलग होने का निर्णय लिया अब सूत्रों के माध्यम से खबर आ रही है

कि दोनों भाइयों ने सहमति से बंटवारा कर लिया है. दोनों के बीच कुछ इस तरह हुआ बंटवारा बड़े भाई समीर जैन के पास प्रिंट बिजनेस रहेगा. यानी Times of India, Economic Times और नवभारत टाइम्स अखबार उनके हिस्से में आए हैं. वहीं, छोटे भाई विनीत जैन ग्रुप के सभी न्यूज चैनल के साथ ही Radio के मालिक होंगे. Print बिजनेस समीर को देने के एवज में विनीत को Broadcast and New Media के मालिकाना के अलावा 3.5 हजार करोड़ का Cash Out यानी अतिरिक्त रकम भी मिलेगी.एक रिपोर्ट में उच्च पदस्थ सूत्रों के हवाले से बताया गया है कि दोनों भाइयों के बीच शुक्रवार रात बंटवारे पर सहमति बनी है इस बारे में बीती शुक्रवार रात उद्योगपति हर्ष गोयनका ने भी एक ट्वीट के जरिेए  जानकारी दी है अब यह बात तय हो गई है देश का प्रतिष्ठित एक और पुराना    घरआना दो भागों में बट गया है या फिर बटने वाला है
