कलेक्ट्रेट के मोहन सभागार में जिला सड़क सुरक्षा समिति की बैठक आयोजित की गई। बैठक में कलेक्टर श्रीमती प्रतिभा पाल ने कहा कि यातायात को सुगम बनाने तथा सड़क दुर्घटनाओं को रोकने के लिए समिति में कई महत्वपूर्ण निर्णय लिए गए हैं। सड़क सुरक्षा समिति के निर्णयों को तत्परता से लागू करें। नेशनल हाईवे में जिन स्थानों पर प्रधानमंत्री सड़क अथवा अन्य सड़कें मिल रही हैं उनमें पाँच से दस मीटर की दूरी पर रम्बल स्पीड ब्रोकर बनाएं। जिला परिवहन अधिकारी ओवरलोड वाहनों की नियमित जाँच कर जुर्माने की कार्यवाही करें। बच्चों को स्कूल लेकर जाने वाले सभी वाहनों में सुरक्षा संबंधी उपाय सुनिश्चित करें। नया सत्र शुरू होने से पहले सभी स्कूली वाहनों की जाँच कराएं। कलेक्टर ने कहा कि रीवा तेजी से विकसित होने वाला शहर है। यहाँ वाहनों की संख्या में तेजी से वृद्धि हुई है। शहर के यातायात को सुगम बनाने के लिए सड़कों से अतिक्रमण हटाने, बिजली के खम्भे तथा अन्य बाधाएँ हटाने, स्थान उपलब्ध होने पर सड़क में डिवाइडर लगाने तथा वाहन पार्किंग की उचित व्यवस्था करें। आयुक्त नगर निगम सड़क सुरक्षा तथा यातायात नियमों से संबंधित नारे तथा संदेश शहर के सभी प्रमुख चौराहों में प्रदर्शित कराएं।

मनगवां से प्रयागराज सड़क के सुधार तथा सोहागी घाटी में सड़क दुर्घटनाएं रोकने के लिए समुचित उपाय करें। संभागीय परियोजना प्रबंधक सड़क विकास निगम घाटी में पर्याप्त संख्या में सोलर इंडिकेटर लगाएं एवं पर्याप्त संख्या में सूचना बोर्ड लगाएं। छुहिया घाटी में भी ओवरलोड वाहनों के कारण जाम लगने की घटनाएं रोज हो रही हैं। पुलिस, परिवहन, राजस्व तथा खनिज विभाग के अधिकारी ओवर लोड वाहनों पर प्रकरण दर्ज कर जुर्माने की कार्यवाही करें। जिला खनिज अधिकारी कोष्टा ग्राम में रेत तथा ईंट मण्डी बनाने के लिए सात दिवस में कार्यवाही सुनिश्चित करें। इसके बन जाने से शहर में जगह-जगह रेत के व्यापार के कारण यातायात में होने वाली बाधा दूर हो सकेगी। कलेक्टर ने सभी प्रमुख सड़कों तथा चौराहों पर आवश्यक साइन बोर्ड लगवा ने के निर्देश भी दिए। ज्योति स्कूल तथा बाल भारती स्कूल में कक्षाएं समाप्त होने के बाद भीड़ के कारण जाम की स्थिति निर्मित होती है। इन स्कूलों में मुख्य गेट के साथ-साथ विद्यार्थियों को बगल के गेट से भी निकासी कराएं जिससे जाम की स्थिति न बने । बैठक में पुलों में रेलिंग लगाने, मॉडल रोड के अवैध डिवाइडर बंद कराने, चालकों के स्वास्थ्य की नियमित जाँच, चालकों को जागरूक करने के लिए प्रशिक्षण तथा बिना नम्बर प्लेट एवं स्टाइलिश नम्बर प्लेट लगाने वाले वाहनों पर कार्यवाही का सुझाव दिया गया।

A meeting of the District Road Safety Committee was organized at the Collectorate’s Mohan Auditorium. In the meeting, Collector Pratibha Pal said that many important decisions have been taken in the committee to make traffic smooth and prevent road accidents. Promptly implement the decisions of the Road Safety Committee. Make rumble speed breakers at a distance of five to ten meters in the places where the Prime Minister’s Road or other roads meet on the National Highway. District Transport Officer should take action against overloaded vehicles by regularly checking them. Ensure safety measures in all vehicles carrying children to school. Get all school vehicles checked before the start of the new session. The collector said that Rewa is a fast developing city. There has been a rapid increase in the number of vehicles here. To facilitate the traffic of the city, remove encroachments from the roads, remove electric poles and other obstacles, install dividers on the road if space is available and make proper arrangements for vehicle parking. Commissioner Municipal Corporation should display slogans and messages related to road safety and traffic rules in all major intersections of the city.

 Take appropriate measures for the improvement of Mangwan to Prayagraj road and to prevent road accidents in Sohagi Valley. Divisional Project Manager Road Development Corporation should install sufficient number of solar indicators in the valley and install adequate number of information boards. Incidents of jams due to overloaded vehicles are happening daily in Chuhia Valley too. Officers of the Police, Transport, Revenue and Mineral Departments should register cases against overloaded vehicles and take action to impose fines. District Mineral Officer should ensure action within seven days to make sand and brick market in Kosta village. Due to its construction, the hindrance in traffic due to trade of sand at various places in the city will be removed. The Collector also gave instructions to install necessary sign boards on all major roads and intersections. After the classes are over in Jyoti School and Bal Bharti School, a situation of jam is created due to the crowd. In these schools, along with the main gate, the students should also be evacuated from the adjacent gate so that there is no jam situation. In the meeting, suggestions were given to install railings on bridges, stop illegal dividers on Model Road, regular health check-up of drivers, training to make drivers aware and action on vehicles without number plates and stylish number plates.
