मोदी सरकार का एक और बड़ा फैसला किसी जमाने में नोटबंदी हुई थी कुछ नोटों को प्रचलन से बाहर कर दिया गया था नई नोट चलाई गई थी मकसद था नकली नोट और अवैध रूप से अर्जित की गई नोटों पर पाबंदी लगाना लेकिन हो गया उल्टा लोग परेशान हुए रिजर्व बैंक के पास भी उतने ही पैसे आ गए जितने उसके हिसाब से मार्केट में प्रचलन में थे अब मोदी सरकार ने उसी में आगे बढ़ते हुए  ₹2000 के नोट को लेकर नया फरमान जारी किया है जिसमें कहा गया है तत्काल प्रभाव से 2000 के नोट बैंक अपने ग्राहकों को देना बंद कर दे फिलहाल अभी 2000 के नोटों को सरकुलेशन से वापस लेने का फैसला लिया गया है यह लीगल टेंडर बना रहेगा हम आपको बता दें नवंबर 2016 मैं 2000 की नोट रिजर्व बैंक ने जारी की थी रिजर्व बैंक ने अपने आदेश में कहा है जिस किसी के पास भी ₹2000 के नोट हो वह लोग 23 मई से 30 सितंबर के बीच जाकर किसी भी बैंक से अपना 2000 का नोट बदल सकते हैं लेकिन रिजर्व बैंक ने इसमें एक बड़ा संशोधन किया है रिजर्व बैंक के आदेश में कहा गया है एक बार में केवल और केवल 10 नोट ही बदले जाएंगे यह अलग बात है रिजर्व बैंक ने फिलहाल नोट वापसी की बात कही है वहीं दूसरी ओर नए नोट जारी न करने को लेकर भी कहा एक बार में ₹20000 तक के नोट बदले जाएंगे यहां गौर करने वाली बात है आज से 5 साल पहले ही 2018 में रिजर्व बैंक ने 2016 में जारी की गई 2000की नोट  को  छापना बंद कर दिया था आरबीआई एक्ट 1934 के सेक्शन 241 तहत 2000 के नोट लाए गए थे लेकिन बड़े नोट होने की वजह से कुछ ही दिन में यह नोट प्रचलन में दिखाई नहीं दिए

रिजर्व बैंक की रिपोर्ट के अनुसार ₹2000 के नोट 2018 से ही नहीं छापे जा रहे आरबीआई ने 20 -21 में कहा इस समय बाजार में ₹2000 के नोटों की हिस्सेदारी 17.3 परसेंट है वही 1920 की बात की जाए तो ₹2000 के नोटों की हिस्सेदारी ₹547952 रुपए वैल्यू के नोट बाजार में मौजूद थे यानी कुल नोटों की हिस्सेदारी 22.6% थी जो घटकर 490195 करोड पर वैल्यू रह गई 21-22 में और कमी आई कुल करेंसी के सरकुलेशन में ₹2000 के नोटों की संख्या और कम हो गई अब यह संख्या 428394 करोड रुपए रह गई थी जिस तरीके से साल दर साल ₹2000 के नोट बाजार से लगातार गायब हो रहे थे उसके चलते सरकार ने ये बड़ा फैसला लिया है फिलहाल विशेषज्ञ मानकर चल रहे हैं निकट भविष्य में ₹2000 की नोट पूरी तरीके से बाजार से गायब हो जाएगी प्रचलन में नहीं रहेगी सरकार ने उसकी ओर एक कदम और बढ़ा दिया है अब जब बैंक ₹2000 के नोट किसी को नहीं देंगे और एक बार में केवल ₹20000 के ही मूल्य के नोटों की वापसी करेंगे ऐसे में गरीब आदमी जिसके पास 10 ,20, 50,100 बचत के नोट होंगे वह भी 2000 की शक्ल में वह तो आसानी से बदल लेगा लेकिन जिन्होंने दो नंबर के रूप में अघोषित संपत्ति के रूप में ₹2000 को एकत्र करके रखा है उनका क्या होगा यह देखने में काफी दिलचस्प होगा क्योंकि बैंक एक बार में 20,000 से ज्यादा नोट नहीं बदलेगा
